Recently Updated the Website Appearance

I updated my website’s appearance. I think this is an improvement, but I’d be interested in feedback.

  1. Just a thought, Mike: you might consider changing the title. You do explain it on your “About” page, but apart from the fact that your readers know the title of your blog, it doesn’t express anything that anybody associates with you. One silly notion for a title that comes to my mind is “How Greek?”

    1. That’s a good point, Carl. One of the benefits of the previous look was that the (invariably more meaningful) subtitle was visible. If I can’t find a way to make that visible again, I’ll probably make the subtitle the main title.

To be honest, I’ve wished for years that I could just get a brand new url. But this one has been around so long and has become so well known and associated with me that I’d likely loose some readers in the switch…

        1. Yes, I think so. It’s just that this url is such a disaster–the product of a stupid college student.

Now that I think about it, however, I really don’t care for the bold reply comments. I might need to change that.

      1. Well, I still like my earlier suggestion: “How Greek?” It can be explained easily as focusing on how Greek works, what makes it tick, how its elements interact to communicate meaning.

        1. Ah! I see. I wasn’t sure if you were serious or not with your prefacing to the suggestion as ‘silly’.

I don’t have good internet right now (at SBL), but I think I’ll make the change.

  2. I like it. Except – I think it could be two column instead of three. Three items are duplicated in the columns. I like the links across the top. I hadn’t noticed those before. I would have a Home link, even though the logo is a one. I like how the posts look.
