Here is what I do not get about all the recent excitement on the Crossway blog and the new NIV announcement: are NIV and ESV really the best candidates for contrasting differing translation philosophies? Are they really that different?

I didn’t know where else to ask this, but have you looked much into relevance theory, especially as it relates to translation? It seems to be offering a lot more than just babbling over formal vs. literal debates.
