My great great grandparents were officers in the Salvation Army in the 19th century. But my great great grandmother was a Captain and my great great grandfather was a lieutenant.

This is one of the reasons why I find it difficult when people make claims about evangelical egalitarians being rooted in the feminist movement of the 20th century.
