I’m sure many of you saw recently Danker’s review of Muraoka’s new LXX Lexicon. It was noted briefly on the B-Greek list and most bloggers are subscribed to RBL’s e-mail announcements or RSS. In either case, here it is:
Review by Frederick Danker
Published 4/3/2010
Citation: Frederick Danker, review of T. Muraoka, A Greek-English Lexicon of the Septuagint, Review of Biblical Literature [http://www.bookreviews.org] (2010).
But more likely than not, fewer of you are subscribed to the announced Bryn Mawr Classical Review, though I’m sure there are a number who are. And this morning, BMCR released their own review of Muraoka:
Bryn Mawr Classical Review 2010.04.20
Takamitsu Muraoka, A Greek-English Lexicon of the Septuagint. Louvain/Paris/Walpole, MA: Peeters, 2009. Pp. xl, 757. ISBN 9789042922488. $138.00.
Reviewed by Frank Shaw, Wright State University (Dayton, OH)
Overall, Danker’s review is far, far more gentle than Shaw’s, who provides an extensive and detailed list of criticism over a variety of issues. He emphasizes at the end that they are intended to constructive and that he is extremely appreciative of Muraoka’s work.
